we have chicks!

Dirt + Water = Mud

Painting with mud!

Flower arranging

Children take turns to create centerpieces for the classroom.

Sewing

Only 2 projects remain and all the children have competed their sewing projects for the year. All the children made a pillow and some challenged themselves to a 4 square wall hanging or a 9 square quilt. It is truly an accomplishment, some children started their quilt last year!
A big Thanks to Maureen for putting many of the quilts together and some parents that tackled the challenge (our most crafty set of parents yet!!) - all the children were very proud to see their projects displayed - they were beautiful!

Eggshells

As a continuation of our recycling/compost study egg shell grinding is some new work on the shelf. using a mortar and pestle the children have turned egg shells into dust!
When I told Nya we would put the dust into the garden, she replied "great, we can grow eggs!"
(Put that one in the baby book under "first blond moment" :) haha

Banana work

Here is the ever popular banana work
The children may choose this during class time. They wash their hands, peel the banana, slice banana, put pieces into the bowl, wash cutting board and slicer, replace try to shelf, enjoy the fruits of their labour and lastly wash and replace bowl for the next person.

A Poem we made together

We have been learning about rhyming, so at circle time last week we put together our own poem as a group. As an extension the gluing tray has been filled with carrots to create the poem as a picture(seen below)

Some new Science
